Alex didn't bet the 25 Red -28 Black Split for the first 2 spins. The "second tier" image shows the appropriate payouts for those two spins. You're otherwise just supposed to flat bet the first tier.

Also, Alex was up +$235 in the end. He counted up $1235 correctly, but came up with the wrong difference when he subtracted $1000. He said he was only up +$135.
